What's the furthest you've travelled to go to a gig?

Not like, some band who happened to be playing while you were there. Had to go for the gig primarily.

I was at a mate's stag do years ago and had been drinking alcohol for quite some time. I was talking to a girl at the bar impressing her with some incredible conversation subjects whose specific subjects I now forget.

At one point the lady in question went to the toilets so I browsed my phone to kill some time. It was at that point I discovered that The Dismemberment Plan were reuniting for a hand full of shows in the United States of America.

Without delay and without telling anyone, I went straight home and booked tickets to two gigs in New York, return flights and a hostel in Harlem (clever drunk brain saving money).

I woke up the next day with no memory of any of it. Made myself some breakfast, then had a euphoric moment remembering what I'd done.

By the time I went I was in a relationship with my now-wife and we booked somewhere to stay that wasn't a hostel in Harlem. The gigs were great, different sets each night, and after getting in touch with the band, I got to interview them face to face beforehand.
