Fantastic last night, I love this band.

Newborn was the best song I've ever heard at a gig, absolutely thrilling.

Mew were great too although I only caught 4 songs even though I got there at 8. Oh well, I saw them recently anyway but it's only a matter of time before they play the Academy on their own.

There's always a downside though -

To all the cunts that go to gigs at the Birmingham Academy and do nothing but chat, no, shout at each other, why not get the cd and listen to it at your house with the rest of your arsehole mates. Why pay £20? It's like paying to get in to Alton Towers and just sitting on a bench getting pissed.
Fucking unbeleivable, every bastard time I go to the Academy, it's filled with pricks. The crowd ratio is around 60/40, the 60 being people that actually want to see and hear the bands they love, the other 40 seem to be random people that have heard of the band and just want to come and drink and talk all night.
I just don't get this at other venues, yes there's always gonna be people talking, you can't expect silence but it's getting to the point where i'm being put off going.

But I won't end the report of a great night on that rant as it was all about the brilliance of Guy and his pals.
