Arab Strap

nice_squirrel [Edit] [Delete] 09:59, 18 November '05

I saw Arab Strap last night at the Garage, and I think I can safely say that I love them more than anyone in the world at this precise moment. They put on such an amazing show - they've been growing in confidence over the years, and the new album is amazing, and they arranged some old material beautifully, and they were clearly having a fantastic time performing to a devoted crowd (with the exception of the stupid girls next to me, who were complaining about the 'dreary' songs. Gah.)

They manage to evoke so many emotions with their music - throughout the course of last night, I wanted to cry and dance and fall in love and laugh and die of humiliation, often all at once, especially in the amazing performances of One Day, After School and Piglet.

If you don't know much about Arab Strap, I urge you to go and buy Philophobia and/or The Last Romance today. You won't be sorry.

Oh, and also - childhood dream fulfilled - Bis (well, Data Panik) were supporting! Ace.
