as a music genre? I was telling a friend the other day that I thought it was media construct and he said I was talking rubbish. But then I spoke to another mate (one who knows a lot about hippity-hop) and he agreed with me. It's just that it seems that only magazines seem to care about artists like Lady Sovereign et al and want to pigeon-hole them as grime whereas to me they'd probably just be hip-hop.
