Previously, I'd been stuck for a great album of 1985 (and several other years) on my Albums of the Years thread. With a little more effort... it turns out that 1985 had many great records I couldn't think of at the time.

So Mr Phelps, your mission - should you decide to accept it - is to hunt down great records of 1985. Post said killer album and let the free world rejoice in your outstanding pick!

And if by some miracle this thread theme has any sort of interest I shall offer subsequent random years in which you will be asked to research the year as best you can ...or six minutes (whichever comes first) and offer your best album of that year.
