Nizlopi, I guess...

Mike_Diver [Edit] [Delete] 10:20, 19 December '05

My feelings are fairly clear (and have been contradicted by many an irate poster already), but what I want to know is this:

Is the Nizlopi song really any better (interpret 'better' however you like) than Westlife below it, or the Pussycat Dolls, or Robbie Williams?

Certain people, in the industry and wider-reaching community, are keen to call it 'real' music, whatever that means. But it's just a well-marketed pop single, right? A flash in the pan novelty hit for Christmas, like Blobby and Bob the Builder before it.

Tell me I'm wrong or right, do. I'd like to know what regular DiS posters make of this song: a one-off hit, or will it propel this duo into some kind of superstardom?

(This thread was inspired by a) a few e-mails and messages this morning wanting either my head or my DiS 'job' as I don't know 'real' music from manufactured pop, and b) because the fucking JCB nonsense woke me up this morning, putting me in a bad mood, a mood hardly helped by the Piccadilly Line terminating at Green Park when I needed to be at Gloucester Road for 9.20. I was late to work. I blame Nizlopi.)
