Music Social More…

backing singers / emmylou harris

owenwhite [Edit] [Delete] 12:17, 20 March '06

got thinking about this after listening to 2 of my favourite albums of recent years, ryan adams' heartbreaker and i'm wide awake... by bright eyes, both of which feature emmylou harris.

my questions are:
can you just 'hire' emmylou to sing on your tracks/album? or is it a case of her being interested in your music, and you knowing there's some kind of mutual appreciation? or can an artist get in contact with her management and pay her to be on the tracks?

also, would she just get paid a flat fee for doing it, or would she get a percentage of album sales?

sorry thats all a bit garbled, but its something i know nothing about really.....
