Les savy Fav news!

IanJ [Edit] [Delete] 13:44, 23 March '06

RIPPED FROM PITCHFORK

Like the indie equivalent of a triple-double, post-hardcore rabble-rousers Les Savy Fav have returned to the zone at last with a three-course offering of frenetic fret-gnashing and dizzying wordplay. Watch the sweat descend as they hit you with a new digital EP, a new 7", and a reissue of their debut full-length, all before the summer sun of 2006 lays its smack down.

Tim Harrington and co. set it off with the Plagues & Snakes EP, an eMusic.com digital exclusive featuring live staple "Raging in the Plague Age" and "Wake up a Snake", which we hereby declare the unofficial theme song to the forthcoming Samuel L. Jackson flick Snakes on a Plane.

The Fav recorded Plagues & Snakes in New York City back in December 2005 with Chris Zane mixing; it's available now. Score it here and rock it:

01 Raging in the Plague Age
02 Wake up a Snake

Next up we've got a bangin' LSF 7", due out this April via Chicago's Rococo Records. It's limited to 1,000 copies and comes in clear green and black editions. Lookee:

01 Hit by a Train
02 Hit by a Car

Both these cuts and the two above were previously released by Australia's Popfrenzy Records, but they're new to the non-import-savvy denizens of Les Savy Fav's U.S. homeland, so booya.

Furthermore, French Kiss Records have designs on reissuing LSF's debut, 3/5, which has been out of print for five years. They've hitched some bonus material to this buggy and will share it with the clamoring masses this July.

And the comeback just wouldn't be complete without some live dates-or date, as it were. Watch Tim prance around in speedos and attempt to make out with audience members and/or David Bazan here:

03-25 Charlottesville, VA - Satellite Ballroom *

* with David Bazan, Wolf Eyes, USAISAMONSTER, Cataract Camp
