Final Fantasy (again)

homesick_alien [Edit] [Delete] 12:51, 6 April '06

Has anyone else managed to hear his new one - "He Poos Clouds"? *COUGH*indietorrents*COUGH*

I actually really like this. All the stuff about it being some kind of concept album based on Dungeons & Dragons went straight over my head though, since I really know nothing about it.... shamefully... (i think?)

But the music is good.... I prefer it to Has a Good Home. Which I thought was alright but had a lot of weak moments, and it kind of wandered a bit. On this one he uses a string quartet, piano, harpsicord and percussion so it's a lot more diverse sounding but he's still managed to keep it really minimal and quiet/intimate. I think it's a lot more focused too, the first three tracks are all excellent and the quality doesn't dip too much later in the album. 'The Arctic Circle' is really pretty, as is 'This Lamb Sells Condos', even though it has children singing in it, which I don't generally approve of... I still think his vocals are a bit weak but they're more interesting this time round, at least.

I need to get a ticket for that luminaire show now. It also has grizzly bear supporting, who are a bit ACE. and simon bookish...

Yes.
