Music Social More…

What are the cliches of the music press, eg the NME?

alcxxk [Edit] [Delete] 04:10, 2 May '06

my dissertation is on the way that the music press shapes the way we see the connection between artists and their work. but analysis of the signficance of the trends, what ARE the trends that are commonly attributed to journalists?

the ones that come to mind so far are:
1. That they build up bands and knock them down.
2. That they lump bands together into movements.
3. That they try and mention as many other bands as possible in a review as reference points.

do you get my idea? ive probably thought of more elsewhere, but if people can throw in their ideas, thatd be lovely.
