How can they manage to make a song about a girl whoring herself to relieve her boredom so CUTE and so tragic at the same time?!?

How can anyone be so amazing as to write something that sounds like twee scottish pop, Northern soul, Felt and an organ falling down the stairs and make it so fucking perfect?!?!
