Beirut - "Gulag Orkestar"

homesick_alien [Edit] [Delete] 20:07, 8 May '06

Has anyone heard this/them?

I think they're rather wonderful.

Imagine a Gypsy Folk version of Neutral Milk Hotel with LOTS of accordions, mandolins, glockenspiels, ukuleles and many other things, but no guitars and you're pretty much there.

I think that's about the best description I can give. You'd probably better be off having a listen to them rather than me. But anyway, I heartily endorse them and their album.

or just, y'know: http://hype.non-standard.net/search/Beirut/1/

And should you wish, you can read words about them by people who are good at describing things.
