Great Escape

Was AMAZING! There are too many highlights to mention, we had a fantastic weekend despite it being galeforce wind and rain all weekend!

My favourites Kid Harpoon, Beans on Toast, Lisa Lindley, My Latest Novel and Metric all doing acoustic sets in a little cafe on Friday day. I love Kid Harpoon, he broke 2 strings in 3 songs and was still completely brilliant and charming. It was a looovely day.

Mystery Jets - they get better every time I see them, they were so loud bits of the brickwork were falling from the ceiling on to my head when they played.

Klaxons - at Club NME, they're brilliant!! So energetic and noisy and really hooky with instrument swapping and falling off the stage and stuff.

There were loads of good bands, twas well worth the £35. Les Inc and Howling Bells, the Sunshine Underground.. On the negative side I thought the Maccabees were a bit boring, I don't like queuing and the Pav Tav is a minging sweatbox are there no other indie clubs in Brighton??

Playing bullshit in the pub in the day also added to the perfect weekend. I feel happy and exhausted.

Who else went?
