Bands/Suggestions Wanted (London Gigs)
Hey All,
We're currently booking up quite a few shows and we might be taking on a regular weekly DiS Night at the smaller Islington Academy. But we keep scratching our heads for the best new bands and the shear volume of demos makes it harder and harder for us to know who's active, who kicks ass and at what scale every band is at (i.e. will anyone come and see 'em).
Basically as we know there are loadsa londoners read DiS, was wondering if we could pool knowledge a little, so that we put on London bands who can help support folks from outta town, many coming to play London for the first time whose demos blow our minds. Most of the obvious bands seem to play about 10 gigs a month, which obviously aint great for numbers through the door (i.e. empty venue = losing money and bad for those who've trekked in from miles away - not that our past gigs have been quiet averaging 180 a show at 93)
So, London bands who blow your mind (maybe you're in 'em?!) and would be up for playing 93ft East, Upstairs at the Garage and out possible new night. We also do monthly nights in Manchester and Southampton, with more ot follow.
Next DiS Show is Thurs May 6th @ 93ft East - currently booked are Querelle, rest of the bill being booked this week.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Sean
