OK. Unlike some people, I thought Monster was a rather good pop single. And I liked Raoul too. So I bought the album today.

I wish someone had warned me that the 'backing vocals' from Monster (i.e. the ADHD yelping), rather than being a feature appropriate to that song, are actually on EVERY SINGLE BLOODY TRACK. Most of which are nothing like as good as the singles.

Still, I also bought the Hope of the States album, and I'd recommend that to anybody. Especially the DualDisc version with the film and another half hour of music... nice.
