After months of being told to listen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Stars (not new discoveries for anyone else I'm sure), I've finally got 'Lift Your Skinny Fists...' and 'Set Yourself On Fire' and decided they are both wonderful.

Has anyone else ever ignored a recommendation only to finally hear the bands ages later and realise they should pay more attention to recommendations in the future?
