Knowing full well you're being patronising towards a person who's poor, hating yourself for it, but not being able to stop it.

Does anyone else do this?

In various jobs i've had i've worked with a number of people who are poor and, as the thread title suggests, I can't help but be patronising toward them sometimes.

Not in a mean way, mind; more in a 'you're poor and that must be really rubbish so i'm going *extra super-duper* nice to you because this will somehow make you feel less bad about you being poor'.

It's ridiculous. It's like there's a little voice in the back of my head going "wow, he's completely poor but he just gets on with life, not letting being poor get in the way - he's so brave".

Urgh.
