Anyone know anything about DSLRs?

marcofella [Edit] [Delete] 23:34, 23 March '10

I just bought myself a Nikon D3000 18-55 kit. The 18-55 lense is ok for simple round the house and in the garden shots. But i'm after an all rounder zoom lense, pref with VR functionality as I can't be assed with lobbing a tripod with me everwhere I go. I've narrowed it down to two or three possibilities:

1. Nikon 18-200MM F3.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR DX
But at £600 it is a little much and I'm just startin out. (I could possibly find a 2nd hand one on ebay for £400, but still.

2. Sigma DC 3,5-6,3/18-200 OS HSM
A nice price at £250, but lacks the VR functionality.

3. Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 DC
At £150 it is a bargain (no VR though) but could be ok for a beginner.

Any experts out there that might be able to help out?
