Hello meat-lovers (Masterchef-ish-centric)

TheWza [Edit] [Delete] 11:01, 25 March '10

Tell me how come, if meat is so tasty, 4 out of 6 of the masterchef bods last night couldn't identify the tasty lamb treat as actually being lamb?

They variously thought the lamb was beef, pork, or duck.

I'm just a bit surprised at the inability of supposedly foodie bods to identify the taste. Did those 4 just mess up badly cos they were rubbish? Most of the chips looked rubbish, so it was a little difficult to take 'em seriously. Anyway...

It kinda made me think about the need for more 'exotic' meat (which we're invariably told tends to taste like chicken or pork).

And then it made me think about the debate around synthetic 'grown' meat which is said to be on the cards/your plates in the next few years. Is it all about flavour, or is the texture thing the more important factor?

(This isn't intended as pro-veggie thread or owt. That's been done and is dull. Eat what you like.)
