Being unexpectedly overweight

So i weighed myself for the first time in about 9 months today my BMI has jumped from 19/20 to 25.5 without me even realising (I'm almost 6 ft so i don't really notice weight going on.) Diet time for me. Anyone else in or ever been in the same situation? Sensible diet tips? DiS Diet Club?
