But here's a non-political reason to be registered: unless you're some kind of fugitive it's in your interests to be on the electoral roll as it'll be seen as a positive if you ever want to apply for credit.

If you do change your mind, but don't know who to vote for, then have a gander at http://voteforpolicies.org.uk/ and/or http://votematch.org.uk/ - not perfect, but just about as good a way to choose a party as any other.
