I have an irrational hatred for them.

To me, a hi-vis jacket says

"I am being paid by New Labour to do a job that doesn't need to be done.

"Although I have no real authority, I like to think that I do. I spend most of my time filling out and sending forms.

"When I wear my hi-vis jacket, I feel very responsible and important, and that I can tell people who aren't wearing them what to do."

The only people exempt from this rule:
- lollipop ladies
- students on rave-themed fancy dress nights <- excused on grounds of them being V. MAD!
