Music Social More…

hey look, it's michael_w's...'uh-oh, i'm going on a date tonight' thread.

michael_w [Edit] [Delete] 12:09, 21 May '10

the second fruit of my internet dating labours

the first went pretty well...

highlights included:

necking two pints exactly 2 minutes and 34 seconds before meeting her, to curb the nerves. however this made me talk a lot, and quickly, about boring things. it was a bit like a less exciting version of spud's job interview in trainspotting...instead of speed and wild-eyed, stream-of-conscious ramblings, it was kronenberg and lots of talking about why roy hodgson is 'a bloody good bloke'.

me laughing in her face when she said that her last boyfriend cheated on her. it's because she used the term 'mistress' and i assumed that was for comic effect. apparantly it wasn't.

her talking about near death experiences, almost drowning etc. asking me if i had any... i replied

'oh yeah...um...my friend...he once, he once threw this brick near me..and it like, almost hit my face. so yeah, pretty close to death'

in hindsight, if i was going to make something up, it should've been something slightly more life-threatening than a floating brick.

pretty suprising she didn't txt back for round 2, right?

but tonight brings fresh hope.

so what tips have you got?, (funny and otherwise)

i think last time i seemed too eager to please and blathered on too much, so tonight i'm gonna look really bored and not say much....keep looking around like i want to be somewhere else, stuff like that. that'll work, right?
