I'm not a complete eejit and have set up many a direct debit before. But no form has ever asked me for a reference (a la D------RZP, with blank spaces for six digits to fill in) before. What the hell is all this shit about?

I've Googled to little avail and, having failed to get through to who it is I'm trying to give money to on a monthly basis on the phone, have dropped them an email. But while I wait for their reply, you lot are my only hope.
