I sent her an email a couple of weeks ago asking her to justify her knavish, pirate-scoundrel, money-grabbing scheme masquerading as a newspaper column. Here's the response I got:

To be very clear all money sent to me was returned where possible, anything that I was unable to return was donated to charity a list of how much and who from and where to is clearly listed on the daily mail website. At no point have I taken money from anyone or requested that money was sent to me. I write a dairy of my life, which people through kindness have responded to but I do not accept, want or request anything from my readers.
