The Game of their life (FOOTBALL CENTRIC)

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 15:10, 2 June '10

As there's no football thread today, thought we could talk about this: Footballers who have one, outstandingly perfect moment to shine.

You get more marks if you choose someone truly shite who had a blinder we'd all forgotten about, but generally I'm just interested in hearing about games you saw where someone was having their best ever day at the office.

I have seen a few in the flesh: Tom Huddlestone at England's U21 game at Wembley against Italy, Jay Smith for Southend (who had one amazing, creative performance then got injured and was never the same again)...

But I choose Andy Dibble's stint in goal for Luton in the 1988 Littlewoods Cup Final. He saved a penalty and one hell of a lot of what was thrown at him generally. It wasn't perfect, but the guy never rekindled it to my knowledge.

Boaz Myhill had a similar game this season against Spurs I recall.

Anyhow, off you go...
