two of my friends and i were talking about what counts as breakfast, which ended up in a discussion about whether MILK counts as A FOOD. "friend 1" was adamant that it counts as "a foodstuff" because it "fills you up" (lol), and got quite pissy with us when we refused to accept that argument. i keep trying to say to her that most drinks do fill you up a bit, because they take up some space, but she's not having any of it.

obviously milk can be used *in* food but that's not the issue here, the question is whether or not MILK, BY ITSELF, DRUNK FROM A GLASS, counts as a FOOD.
