So, apparently, cars aren’t obliged to stop at zebra crossings but “must give way when a pedestrian has moved onto a crossing” (Baby Expert et al. 2010; Netmums et al. 2009).
Am I the only adult in the world not to know this?
Many a time I have stood there, a wet and bedraggled car-free loser, when all I needed to do was stride across in front of the raging, oncoming traffic.
Stepping out in front of cars to get them to stop goes somewhat against my formative road crossing years from which the general take home rules appeared to be 1) Don’t walk out in front of traffic and 2) Always hold mummy’s/a mummy’s hand”.

Anyway, please fill this thread with your HILARIOUS zebra crossing stories like “once we coloured the white of the zebra crossing RED and numerous people died!”
