Sleepy Half-Consciousness

johnjohnson [Edit] [Delete] 16:12, 23 July '10

Anyone else ever make an utter fool of themselves in those moment just before you drift off?

A couple of weeks ago I was lying in bed with my new girlfriend (thinly disguised 'I was in bed with a girl' thread), just chatting before going to sleep. I'd been up since 7am and it was going on for 2am by that point. She was being all romantic and whispering sweet nothings etc etc, as girlz like to do., Suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard myself interjecting: "How thick do you like your bread to be sliced?"

No idea where it came from. Maybe I was subconciously thinking about breakfast the next morning. Either way, it was a bit of a mood killer and I had no intention of saying it. I mean, the second after I said it, I literally had no idea why I had. I wasn't even bloody interested in how she likes her bread sliced.

What's that all about, eh?
