The price of gig tickets to see the Pope.

TheWza [Edit] [Delete] 11:59, 26 July '10

"Scots Catholics are being asked to pay to see Pope Benedict XVI in Glasgow, despite the church insisting there would be no individual fees for the visit.

Parishioners have been told there is an expectation they should make a donation of £20 each to cover transport and the cost of a pilgrim pack with a CD and an information booklet."

But is £20 value for money, when compared to, say, Scientology? Will Islam undercut them by sending a big time Sheikh across, but only charge a tenner? Will there be a Buddha tribute act prepared to play for donations only?

You'd think that the Pope could charge more for a comeback gig. Maybe it's the change of personnel since the days of the big hits.

Rod Stewart is charging at least three times as much for his SECC show tonight.

Summary: Catholicism gigs are pretty cheap because most people prefer the early work?
