Bookmarks [great thread-centric]

Royter-Hatfood [Edit] [Delete] 13:00, 27 July '10

Do you use a bookmark, or do you fold the corner over?

I fold the corner over, unless I'm using a bookmark. But I quite like tatty books, especially really old ones where the edge of the page is slightly yellowed and the cover is slightly (but not too) battered. The missus can't stand tatty books, she won't let me read any of hers* unless I use a bookmark and only open them A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME ie no bending the cover back* or holding it open with one hand*.

I used to only buy second-hand books because I liked having 'Dean Saunders, 1972' or similar written on the inside cover, or seeing where previous readers had folded over the corner, or finding old bus-tickets used as bookmarks, IT'S LIKE LIVING HISTORY.

Anyway why don't you all do one, yeah? Benders.
