Me: For my friend Sophie’s birthday, I’m going to buy the book Sophie’s World (link), and put a post-it note on the cover which reads: ‘this is a book I wrote about you’.

It’s a truly horrific idea - unbearably twee and not even slightly funny. She’s never read a graphic novel or even seen Juno so she probably won’t get the endearingly pitiful aspect, and it is therefore officially Well Indie.
