Those little plasticy pouches of clothes-washing stuff? How long do you reckon they take to dissolve completely?

Based on an aborted washing machine incident several minutes ago, the answer is apparently about 6 seconds. I don't believe that for one second. There's something more than meets the eye going on here. Where the fuck did it go?
