anyway...i was letting loads of casual racism go by....but then it got onto how enoch powell was a great man and the only one that could see the future

and instead of rationally going...'well, i don't want to paint the man as a two dimensional fascist or rascist, but i certainly don't believe in that speech and the effect it must've had on thousands of people's lives...it was horribly incendiary and created the very tensions it predicted, a self-fulfilling prophecy...it could act as a rallying cry for millions of horrible racist people in this country'

basically just said....'but he was an idiot'...and didn't make any coherant point at all, allowing everyone to go, 'ahh but you're too young, you weren't there'
