I'm going there in April/May next year for 6 days, and I'm starting to look for hotels and maybe a few early ideas about what to do/where to go. On the basis of this video:

I'll be visiting Amoeba Records, and also another record store called Aquarius Records who I've mail ordered from which seems mighty fine. BUT since I'm going with the missus, and man cannot subsist on record shops alone, I'm looking for any advice you might have on other places of great import and interest, as well as any ideas about where to stay (specific hotels or just areas/districts to look around for hotels in). If you know of any stuff that's maybe not so touristy, little galleries or gig venues or bars etc., that'd be ideal.

I'll be spending most of my time looking out for this symbol, of course:
