Over the weekend I visited a pub that, despite being ostensibly shit (Aussie-themed, you see), I'd always quite liked. Nice people, good atmosphere, cheap food, decent enough beer. Over the summer it was done up- the framed Aussie-rules shirts and shark-chomped surfboards were binned and the two-burgers-for-£6 deal abandoned in favour of a higher-class gourmet pub-style menu and minimalist interior design. I gave it a go and most probably won't be going back, which is a shame. Need to find a new pub in that area.

ANYWAY, the reason I'm not going back is mostly that I was very confused as to whether or not I was in a pub or restaurant. I got there and went to the bar as you do, then sat down with my drink only for a waitress to come and ask me if I wanted food. Wasn't what I was expecting but I was hungry, so ordered. Simple enough. What confused me was that the staff kept trying to serve me like I was in a restaurant for hours after I'd eaten and it made me bloody uncomfortable. I quite like going to the bar. Fucking stupid continental bar-waiting style.

Neither of these subjects are that good, but by combining them I increase the chance that someone here will have something to contribute.
