Masterchef - Italian meringue Vs French meringue

jacques_le_biscuit_ [Edit] [Delete] 10:35, 19 October '10

Tough opening round, Italian meringue with a compote (what a great word). Monica showed how it was done and then the contestants pretty much showed how it shouldn't be done apart from Max Branning who done a sterling job. There were some lovely compotes though. Also both Gregg and Monica had meringue all over their lips at one point, what's the opposite of unctious?

Most experience fella got the boot and Max, Sonia Jackson and some other fella got through and had to make a french dish for Junior Roux. I was not expecting that.

They had to hollow out a delicious bass. Sonia cut through the belly, Max sliced instead of chopped his fennel and onions and other fella done something else.

Other fellas final effort had more bones than you would find in a dark, dark house in a dark, dark town. JR was not impressed. Sonia also bunged a bone and a scale in there for good measure. Max was again the pick o' the bunch.

Sonia and Max went through. They deserved it.
