well, less apostrophe than single quotation marks, but they're the same anyway. except that the quotation mark is meant to go both ways (lol), depending on if they're at the beginning of the quote or at the end of it. see illustration: http://www.englishclub.com/writing/images/quotes-single.gif

but all of a sudden mine have stopped doing that, and i can only get the end quotation mark even when it's at the beginning of the quote.
