I am currently studying in france but I would like to go home for christmas and then come back out after new year. I can fly BA straight from toulouse but its gonna be £130 each way

Is it worth saving about £150 quid by going Toulouse->Carcasonne->Stansted->Euston->Glasgow two times in a potentially grueling journey lasting a few days or should I just fly BA and go Toulouse -> Glasgow and back in a couple of hours and relative comfort?
Bear in mind the EU just gave me £1500

Other question is: is it difficult to get to proper london from stansted airport?
Other question is: i might break up the journey by staying in london like a day or something so you know no-ones ever wondered before but if you're in london WHAT is it that YOU DO?
