Over the last few months I've noticed "name" comedians (i.e. people who'd get on the TV and so forth_ playing comedy gigs at the kind of venues where bands no-one's heard of tend to appear (e.g. places I've played a lot myself.

Does that mean that as a comedian the threshold of success and where people start to notice you is much lower than it is for music? And if so why is that?

Does this thread make any sense?
