The you with the home town crowd vs the you with current friends

xylopwn [Edit] [Delete] 12:17, 30 November '10

obviously this is a case of not applicable if you're not living away from your home town.

But I was discussing last night that people who know you from one place, especially from your home town, have a very fixed image of you in their heads, and it's not until they can see the way you interact with a completely different crowd that they know who you 'are' as a person.

Back home, I'm a lot less confident and a lot meeker with friends than with groups I've met since moving away. I'm less likely to pipe up during group discussions and I've far more self concious about what I'm saying or doing.

Are you different when you're back home?
