A new guy has moved into the flat next to mine. He is probably mid-to-late 30s, very overweight, and a bit fucking needy. He seems to spend a lot of time waiting just inside his door so that he can jump out whenever he hears my girlfriend or I leaving / returning to the flat; if he is leaving his flat then he spends a few minutes in the corridor coughing and rattling his keys. I assume that this is in case we are also waiting inside our flat to jump out and talk to him. I managed to get away from him the other day as his phone went, but then he went round and spoke to my girlfriend and showed her round his flat, before trying to wangle an invite to ours (she just said it was too messy). Apparently he then spent some time walking around the path in front of our living room windows, so she had to studiously ignore him.

Last night he came round and knocked on the door and asked to use my phone to call his wife (who lives down south - apparently he's moved up for work), as he'd dropped his down the toilet or some crap like that. I grudgingly agreed, and fair enough, he got his wife to call him back so he didn't use up my minutes... but he still had my phone for 40 minutes! That's weird, right? When he gave it back he seemed to be trying to get an invite inside, and kept saying things like "oh well I'll come back when you're not so busy...?" and "we'll have to get together some time".

I'm sure he's just a bit lonely and stuff, but FUCK.

Oh, and he was moaning about how he can barely afford to eat just now, but then was talking about getting a massive tv and sky sports HD.

What do I do? Just wait for him to turn up with an apple, some jam, and a big knife?
