The police were just in our office, we just got this email:

Some companies in the area have been made aware of a black taxi cab driver operating in the Manchester City Centre area, that has been assaulting women travelling on their own.

One such instance took place this weekend on Friday night, when a girl got in the black cab after her work do and was assaulted which resulted in her being hospitalised over a weekend.

It was reported to the police who confirm this hasn't been the first instance, but the problem is that the cab driver is parking in places where there are no video cameras, so they've not been able to catch him.

In light of a lot of Christmas parties going on at the moment, please could you circulate to any area that you think this would be useful to?

Please be extra vigilant and careful and ensure if at all possible you do not travel alone.
