Many people seem to say that you dont have a 'right' to be a student......do you have a 'right' to a job if you dont take on a debt you cant afford?

creakyknees [Edit] [Delete] 16:41, 9 December '10

I understand that the gov wants there to be less students.....fair enough I can comprehend that, but then there will need to be more jobs for those that do not go on to FE.

Im not entirely certain of all the figures, but currently there is a great shortage of jobs n'est pas?

And not many available with a decent wage.

If humans dont have a right to FE and dont have a right to a job, do they have a right to dole? OR
should they be given a plot of land and told to look after themselves?
or will this have to be loaned too?

Im confused......although I guess it costs less to keep people on the dole rather than as students.

Is this what it all boils down to? less resources to keep people on the dole?

In which case there might be another problem, I would have thought that they will also need to cut benefit payments.

Im also curious as to why there is all the noise and huffing from the gov about getting people off long term dole......this is laudable and fair enough when there is are jobs, but at a time when there is surplus people and not enough jobs, then this seems a bit pointless and even regressive as the futility of searching at a time when there arnt any will make it seem futile altogether
