Myself and a couple of chums are coming down to Manchester at the end of March for the Deerhunter gig, MADWAN etc.

Firstly, are there any other interesting gigs on on the days either side (29th/31st(?)) and what are they?

Where is cheap to stay, and relatively close to the HOTSPOTS? I'm thinking hostels or whatever.

Where are these 'hotspots'? I'm talking places that we can go and talk to people and listen to My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, etc. without having to put up with cunts in Henley's gear giving it the big yin.

Where are the good eateries that we should consider visiting? even if it's just really good pub stuff or whatever or a bitching steak house - hit me with names, descriptions and so on. No vegan nonsense please.

Basically, what's worth doing because we'll probably be spending two nights there and we want to pack it with semi-interesting stuff.
