How To Make It In America

Zapsta [Edit] [Delete] 05:35, 21 February '11

So while everyone's been praising Sky Atlantic for giving belated premiers to Boardwalk Empire and Treme, as well as providing them with another chance to see what all the fuss was about with Six Feet Under and The Sopranos, I've been slowly falling in love with this little gem from the makers of Entourage. When I first started watching (with only the vaguest idea of the premise), I thought there was no possible way I couldn't hate it. A fashion school drop-out protagonist who spends most of his time hanging out with members of the New York art scene? OKAY. It's like the writers thought to themselves, "You know what we should do? We should make the COOLEST MOTHERFUCKING SHOW THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN", and then just kept that as their sole guiding principle. But it's actually really good, so there. And in the first episode, Samaire Armstrong has a small role, and it's difficult to tell whether she's genuinely out of it or that's just her character.
