The battle of the fringes. Representatives of well-known indie website Drowned In Sound will play against representatives of well-known indie record emporium Pure Groove in a proper 11-a-side 2x 45 minutes match at our usual home in North London.

If you want to play for the DiS team, you'll have to add your name below to this thread. Note however that places are more limited than for our regular Sunday games. Depending on numbers, it may be that some people will have to be disappointed, as we can't turn up with a dozen or more subs. The final team selection will be announced on Thursday 10 March.

DiS will play in red shirts, Puregroove will play in white shirts. Unlimited rolling subs are allowed when they ball is out of play, and there will be no referee. In case of doubt, the team captains will agree the outcome regarding off-side goals (!!!), free kicks, penalties, etc.

I am aware that there is an overlap with a televised FA Cup game, but there wasn't a suitable pitch available at an earlier time. However, if you hurry yourself to the dodgy Irish pub on the corner once our game is finished, you'll be just in time to see the first half highlights.

Rumours are that Puregroove are "well good", but also a "nice fair bunch". Let's see if we can equal or better both.
