'Western developers just dont have that Japanese magic'...discuss?

Finally got my hands on Vanquish, loved the demo but had a lot of games to get through. It just has this japanese magic that takes me back to my gaming youth, much like Bayonetta did, utter balls out madness that frys your brain and burns your retinas, full of inventive ideas and quirks, a proper 'game'
