When you are making a bacon roll, the sauce *must* be on top of the bacon, yes?

Similarly, a cheese sandwich. Anything which is to accompany the cheese (whether it be pickle, mayo, salad) should go on top of the cheese. You can't be biting into sauces or salad with your lower incisors.

Ditto for burgers.
