A thread about the doctors and self-inflicted stuff

untrue [Edit] [Delete] 19:50, 30 March '11

For example, I went to the doctors a couple of months ago with bad persistent heartburn after a few too many heavy nights. Got prescribed lansoprazole for a month, did the trick. Recently had a couple of heavy nights again, heartburn came back the same as it was previously (difficulty getting to sleep with the burning) but this time it went away after three days.

My question is, is this something that I should be treated for or is it my duty to avoid drinking a lot of spirits when I go out? Seeing as other people drink as much but don't have the same problem. Do you know what I mean lad? I don't know where the line is drawn between it being a health problem that should be dealt with and a health problem that is self-inflicted and therefore not deserving of NHS time.
